New stuff...

Lots of new stuff going up in the shop. Oh, how I wish that it posted itself. It would be *so* much faster that way.

some things that are in line to be put up are:

Prep for the upcoming woolfest is coming along nicely, though I wish I had more time between now and then. Ah well, that's usually the way it is for me. Never enough time.

Some samples have been made, and some of the yarns I'm just thrilled with how they knit up.

is a 100% merino yarn.

is 51% silk, 49% merino, with a border of kid mohair with a nylon binder (which you can't see in that picture... what you also can't see is that it's a moebius)

is a aran weight BFL yarn, and this baby sweater will eventually have a zipper.

Round two of BFL sock yarn dyeing went *much* better.

I'm really happy with how this one came out, the blues are vibrant but not blinding, and the greens are muted but not muddy. I can't wait to knit up my swatch.

next up, some spinning fiber.

BFL!

So, I received some BFL yarns and fibers the other day, and set about to start dyeing up some superwash sock yarn (which is fantastic, incidentally...) and somehow managed to do something to the yarn. It is sad, because this is really stunning yarn, in more ways than one.

blinding, isn't it? I love it.

it is an incredibly intense dye, much more than any yarn I've dyed previously, and the most amazing rainbow I've gotten. there are spots that look like the plies have shifted, and there's a tiny loop, and a second tiny loop about an inch away. Luckily, it doesn't affect the finished knit fabric, as light tension on the yarn as you knit seems to help. (yay!)

So, these skeins are going up as seconds. Hopefully someone will love to give them a home, because otherwise I'm going to outfit my whole extended family with bright rainbow socks.

Coming soon... more BFL yarn and fiber.
